Should your tooth be damaged or broken by decay, and a filling or crown cannot be used to help restore your tooth, the tooth may require extraction and be removed from the bone.
Tooth Removal Procedures:
Traditional Extraction – This type of procedure is performed on a tooth that can be seen in the mouth, where Dr. Hoss or Dr. Mahtab will loosen the tooth with an instrument and use forceps to remove the tooth.
Surgical Extraction – This procedure is a bit more complex and is used if a tooth may have broken off at the gum line. The oral surgeon will perform a small incision into your gum to surgically remove the tooth (sometimes this is an impacted wisdom tooth).
